  2. Wow. And we’re just finding this out *now.* Just imagine the information that Mueller and his team are sitting on. Good god. If this is part of the stuff that Mueller is allowing Cohen to tell the public just imagine the stuff he isn’t allowing Cohen to talk about.

  3. There’s a little piece of me that doesn’t fully believe this. Not because I don’t think it happened, but because I feel like Trump isn’t smart enough to say “go pay someone to rig the polls and get my numbers up.” I would believe he said “I don’t care what it takes, my numbers need to go up NOW!” Then Cohen would go pay someone to rig it, having misunderstood the intention of “do whatever it takes” as “even if it means breaking laws”.

In the other hand, I fully believe that Trump believes himself above the law and sees nothing wrong with anything that’s happened.

  4. So, the article doesn’t mention what polls they manipulated.

We also know that the polls showed Hillary would win.

We have to remember that part of disinformation is making people complacent when they should be concerned.

If they rigged polls to show Hillary would win, it would depress the turnout of people who didn’t want trump but weren’t worried about Hillary losing… Which was a lot of people.

Also, if they messed with online polls that were being used by the Clinton campaign, and misdirected her into thinking that she needed to put resources into states that didn’t need them, and ignore states that did…

That could be a big problem.

EDIT: Conversely: The same exact poll that shows Trump is just within arms reach of winning is a great motivator for Trump supporters who went from “He can’t win anyway” to “Holy shit we have to go vote.”
